(WO) — The Environmental Partnership announced Emily Hague as Director beginning in January on Dec. 15. In this role, Hague will lead The Partnership’s efforts to drive innovation and share best practices among industry leaders to improve environmental performance and reduce methane emissions in every major U.S. basin.

“The Environmental Partnership serves a critical role in uniting industry efforts to address the climate challenge and I am honored to be working with these talented men and women to continue to drive progress,” said Hague.

Hague comes to the Partnership with over ten years of experience building industry consensus on important upstream-focused policies, and most recently starting and leading API’s Onshore Safety Alliance (OSA).

As the OSA Manager, Hague the led industry to design a voluntary program to support the industry’s goal of protecting workers and advancing safe operations in U.S. onshore exploration and production – bridging divides and ultimately launching a program with broad representation across the industry.

Through the program, Hague led OSA participants to share their expertise through the development of good practices and guidance that will advance all industry companies along their individual safety journeys and improve the industry’s safety performance collectively.

Prior to joining API, Hague worked at the Department of the Interior as a career employee, supporting senior leadership under both the Bush and Obama Administrations. She worked across the Department and with the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals, the Office of the Solicitor and the Minerals Management Service (MMS).

Hague will succeed Matthew Todd, who is departing after five years of leading The Partnership and more than 20 years at API.
